Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of Shotlog (the "Service"), a shooting logbook and score-tracker app for marksmen.

Note: These terms were migrated from a previously hosted Google Doc on 2026-05-08 so they can live at a stable, first-party URL. Last updated: 2026-05-08.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Shotlog, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes to these terms constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

2. The Service

Shotlog is a digital logbook for sport shooters. It lets you log practice and competition sessions, record scores live, track firearms and maintenance, and analyze your shooting history. The Service is provided "as is" and may be updated, changed, or discontinued at our discretion.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create a Shotlog account. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal right to own and operate any firearms you log in the app under the laws of the jurisdiction in which you reside.

4. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access. We are not liable for losses caused by unauthorized use of your account.

5. Your Content

You retain ownership of the data you enter into Shotlog — sessions, scores, firearms, maintenance logs, and notes. By using the Service you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display that content solely for the purpose of operating the Service for you.

You may export or delete your data at any time from inside the app. Deleting your account is irreversible and removes your data from our active systems permanently.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, including in connection with firearms activity that violates the laws of your jurisdiction.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our infrastructure.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law.
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission.
  • Upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or misleading.

7. Subscriptions and Payments

Shotlog offers free and paid tiers. Paid subscriptions are sold and managed through the Apple App Store and Google Play, and are governed by their respective billing terms. Payment, renewal, refund, and cancellation terms are set by the relevant store and can be managed in your store account.

Subscription state is mirrored from the store via our payments processor (RevenueCat). If you cancel, you keep access until the end of your paid period; the subscription does not auto-renew thereafter.

8. Third-Party Services

Shotlog relies on a small set of trusted third-party providers to operate, including:

  • Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
  • RevenueCat — subscription state management.
  • PostHog — product analytics (privacy-respecting, no advertising).
  • Sentry — crash reporting and error monitoring.
  • Apple App Store and Google Play — distribution and billing.

We do not sell your data, and Shotlog does not embed third-party advertising networks. See our Privacy Policy for details on what each provider processes.

9. Intellectual Property

The Shotlog name, logo, app, website, and all associated software and design are owned by us and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. These terms do not transfer any rights to you beyond a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the app for its intended purpose.

10. Disclaimers

Shotlog is a logbook tool. It is not a substitute for professional firearms training, licensing, or legal advice. You are solely responsible for the safe and lawful handling of any firearms you log in the app.

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (including your statutory rights as a consumer in the EU/EEA).

12. Termination

You may stop using Shotlog and delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to other users or to the Service itself.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email where appropriate.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. If you are a consumer resident in the EU/EEA, you also benefit from any mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence.
